Explaining COVID-19 to children

This is a very strange, unusual and worrying time for us all, and children will be picking up on things that they are hearing and seeing. Below are some links to explain this very confusing time, to children. We would highly recommend reading through the resources first, to decide which is the best for your child.

Coronavirus a book for children Axel Scheffler has illustrated a digital book for primary school age children, free for anyone to read on screen or print out, about the coronavirus and the measures taken to control it.

The BBC Newsround Site has a comprehensive section on coronavirus, with text and video guidance focusing on tips if a child is worried, how to wash your hands, and what self-isolation means.
