Pastoral / Emotional Support
Welcome to the Pastoral and Emotional support page.
Children's emotional and mental well-being is even more important now than it ever has been. More children than ever, suffer from mental health difficulties, and we want to offer whatever support we can, to stop this being the case with children at SFH.
Some children find things easier to express than others, and all children find different ways of communicating their feelings. On this page you will find lots of links to resources that can help to support you and your child through this very emotional and confusing time.
If there is something that you cannot find, please get in touch with the contact form and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
Thank you
Miss Bibby, Mrs Dennis, Mrs Kay and Mrs Revill
The Coronavirus - What you need to know.
With so much on the news and social media it can get confusing; What is social distancing? Are we allowed outside? What is essential travelling?
The following links will hopefully provide any up to date answers and information on the Coronavirus. BBC Newsround can also provide child friendly explanations on the latest Coronavirus updates.
Talking to your children about the Coronavirus:
DO:
- Try to use words that you know they understand.
- Ask open ended questions. 'Tell me what you know about this virus?'
- Be guided by their questions
DON'T:
- Tell them not to worry
- Ask too many questions.
- Answer questions that are not asked.
