Intent
At Sir Francis Hill we believe that Music should be available to all. We want music to be part of our life now and in the future as a source of inspiration, well being and individuality. We have an emphasis on celebrating individual talent and want all children to have the opportunity to enjoy, learn and grow through music.
Implement
At Sir Francis Hill we have a broad and balanced curriculum, which aims to engage pupils on all levels and interests. We have opportunities for instrument tuition, music participation and reading on an individual basis as well as group, whole class, year group and whole school.
We listen and respond regularly in school in an incidental way so that we encourage music as a fully integrated part of our school life.
Impact
We hope that children are able to grow individually with questioning, independent minds through the experience of music in school so that the love of this subject is with them and helps them to develop as confident and optimistic individuals.
