Author visits 2020

This year, we were lucky enough to be visited by not just one author, but two!

Ian Billings came to visit us early on in the term. He is a pantomime writer, actor, TV extra, theatre technician, university lecturer, and model (according to his website). He has written episodes of BBC TV's Chuckle-Vision. Ian is the author of Space Rocks and the Sam Hawkins Pirate Detective series. He worked with the children on techniques to add detailed and fun description into their writing. All of the children enjoyed his sense of humour and his creative ways to open their story writing.

In October, David Goutcher, the Author of the Spy Quest series of books came in to visit. Spy Quest is an innovative, online interactive gaming and book series, which has cutting edge Augmented Reality software woven into the fabric of the experience. Children can download the free Spy Quest app and use their "spycam" to watch interactive videos as they read the story.
