Phonics
Last year the school took on a new Phonics scheme - a programme called Read, Write, Inc. The children have already started learning this is Reception so it will be familiar to them.
This link will take you to our Read Write Inc webpage where you will find lots of further information. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to come and ask any of the Year One staff.
Possible questions may be:
"What on earth are Fred fingers?"
"Why does my child keep telling me to do Fred in my head?"
"What is a super speedy reader?"
There is a link below to the Ruth Miskin/Read Write Inc. website where there are a lot of videos to help support you reading and writing with your child at home.
