World Book Week 2025

World Book Week: A Celebration of Stories and Adventure!

This year’s World Book Week was truly an unforgettable experience for our school community! We kicked off the week with a special visit from former teacher Mr. Tom Keenan, who now works for Lincoln City Football Club. Mr. Keenan shared the incredible journey behind his book, Vong's Cambodian Football Adventure. The children were captivated as he recounted the story of Vong, a determined young boy who travelled for hours just to play football for Mr. Keenan’s team in Cambodia. Excitement filled the air as the pupils also learned about Mr. Keenan’s time working with Real Madrid – a dream come true for many football fans!

As part of the celebrations, our students had the wonderful opportunity to exchange their £1 World Book Day vouchers for books, thanks to the generosity of Lindum Books. We are incredibly grateful to them for ensuring that every child in our school could take home a book of their own, igniting a love for reading in each of them.

To wrap up the week, we held a thrilling Book Swap. The sheer number of books available amazed us all, and it was heartwarming to see children enthusiastically searching for stories they had long wanted to read. The book talk buzzing through the hallways was electrifying, with pupils excitedly discussing their finds and recommending books to their friends.

World Book Week was a fantastic celebration of literature, adventure, and the joy of reading. A huge thank you to everyone who contributed to making it such a success!
