Who's Who on the Governing Body

Dave Reed

I have had a varied career before arriving at Sir Francis Hill. I studied English at University before joining the Army (Royal Engineers). I served in the UK and overseas and then spent nearly 30 years in the Metropolitan Police. I worked in various operational roles and finished by leading several change programmes aimed at modernising policing in London. This included management of intelligence and local policing - including services delivering community and response policing as well as criminal investigation and safeguarding.

I moved from London to Lincoln in 2019 and started work as a MacMillan project manager supporting the development of Palliative & End of Life care in Lincolnshire. I currently work with the Kisimul group, supporting children and adults with complex learning disabilities and autism.

In addition to serving on the Governing Body at Sir Francis Hill, I am currently Vice Chair of Governors at Springwell Alternative Academy and a Board Member for a local charity. I am married with two grown up children, and have two small but stubborn dogs.

Kerry Moyles

​I have had two children at Sir Francis Hill since we moved to Lincoln from Cambridgeshire back in 2020 for my job at Anglian Water. They adore SFH and I'm delighted to be a parent governor where I'm committed to working with pupils, teaching staff and leaders to ensure everyone gets the best school experience possible.

 

Councillor Kev Clarke

​I have been connected with the school in one form or another for over 30 years. One of my grandchildren currently attends, while my other grandchild left recently.

I have been elected as County Councillor for the local area since 2009, at which point I was eligible to be a Local Authority governor, which I undertake in addition to my councillor duties. Over the years, I have seen many changes at Sir Francis Hill, not least the growth of the school, both in size and the number of pupils. The outside area in particular has changed significantly over the years and the children of SFH are very lucky to have such a range of play equipment available to them.

Eleanor Baliol-Key

​My son Alexander is in year 3 and had a good start to his school career, despite the loss of his Reception teacher, a rigorous Ofsted inspection and the recent strike action. This is because I believe that, at its core, the school does a good job of educating its children and that staff genuinely want the best for them.

I have taught in primary education for 13 years and have also been a staff governor at the school where I work. I have seen how schools operate from a teacher’s perspective, and I know what teachers need and want to make them feel valued and respected, allowing them to be able to offer the best of education to the children in their care. As assistant head teacher for the last 5 years, I also understand how a school operates on a more strategic basis and can take a whole school view of things, knowing that sometimes decisions have to be made for the good of the running of the school that may not be popular with all stakeholders.

I am looking forwards to working with the staff to offer an external opinion and viewpoint that challenges where necessary, to ensure the highest standard of education for our children. I am also looking forward to meeting some of you over the school year.
